Answers to what grooming salons ask us most — whether the free plan is really free, what it costs when you grow, how your data is kept safe, whether it works on a phone, and how to open booking only to clients you already have. If something is missing, email us at support@groomcard.com.

No. You sign up and get to work - no card required anywhere. Up to 10 clients are free and every feature is switched on. A card only comes up when you want to add one more client and move to Pro.
All of it, just capped at 10 clients. Dog records, calendar, online booking, before and after photos, stats, receipts, Excel export - nothing is locked behind a paywall. Pro only takes the caps off.
Only when you want to add client number 11. Pro is $22 a month, or $190 billed yearly - that is 3 months free, about $15.83 a month. Signing up costs nothing and takes no card, so you can look around first. Turning it on gives you 14 days to try it, so nothing is charged straight away, and you can cancel any time.
It stays yours. You can export clients, dogs, visits, receipts, and revenue to Excel any time - including before you cancel anything. Pro cancels with one click. There is no notice period and no year-long contract locking you in.
You can, and you do not have to retype years of history to do it. Set up your first few dogs, then add the rest as they come in for a groom. If your clients are already in a spreadsheet, import them all at once. A few weeks later the salon runs on one app and the notebook goes in a drawer.
Records are separated by salon in the database - you see yours, nobody else can reach them. Dog photos sit in private storage and load through short-lived links, so nobody stumbles onto them. Anything you delete goes to the Trash first, so a record deleted by mistake comes back. And you can pull everything into Excel whenever you want, so a copy is always within reach.
We think so. Everything is named the way you say it in the salon, not the way a developer would say it. There is nothing to install - you log in through a browser. The longest part is the first pass at your price list and hours; after that it is mostly tapping. If you get stuck, email us and we will walk you through it.
Yes. GroomCard is a web app - it runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet, or a desktop, and there is nothing to download. You open a dog record on your phone right at the table, and your client books from the couch.
You can. In settings you switch booking to registered clients only. The client then enters the access code you gave them, the one on their record. Without it they go no further, and the code is checked on the server, so there is no way around it. The link itself stays public - it just will not take a booking without the code.
